Quicken is a powerful financial management tool, allowing you to track your bills and budgets throughout the year and set customized financial goals for yourself. Quicken can also keep track of your financial accounts and each account’s individual transactions.
Quicken supports automatic downloading of transaction history for thousands of financial institutions worldwide, and after setting up your financial accounts, a click of a single button will download all of your transaction data into the program.
Hi Marilyn, From what I understand, most financial institutions will provide the last 30, 60, or 90 days worth of transactions via Direct Connect (Online Banking). If you would like to enter the earlier transactions (From January 1st), you would have to download the transactions from your bank/credit card company via their website and then import them into MD. Some banks/credit card companies allow you to set dates for the download/export, others only offer individual statements. Either way, you can usually obtain them from their website. Select the statement (or transaction dates) Choose 'Download' and and select QIF,.OFX,.QFX, or.OFC files (sometimes called Quicken™ or Microsoft Money™ Microsoft Money™ files). Then, to import the file(s) into MD, go to the Moneydance Menu item: File→Import and then navigate to the downloaded file(s) on your computer. Click on it and select the account that you want them to import to, confirm each transaction then reconcile (If your file associations are already made, MD will just ask you what you want to do with the file once it downloads).
You may have to Edit your Account's Initial Balance (this one time) to reconcile correctly, then you are finished. Take care, Tony.
